The climate of Crete is mild Mediterranean and you will find yourself relaxing and enjoying the sun and sea in Crete more than being in any other place in the world!

During spring, you will see that the average temperature varies from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius, while in May it often reaches 25 degrees making it easy for you to go for a swim to one of the numerous famous beaches of the island. During the hot summer months, the temperature remains high with a maximum of up to 40 degrees and this is when it is the busiest period for Chania. The city attracting tourists from all over the world for the top beaches in Chania with exotic, emerald waters like Elafonisi and Falasarna and many more are considered the essentials that you have to see.

The sunshine and sunrise both will magnetize you and one thing is sure you need to pack all your summer clothes when travelling in Greece. July is generally considered to be a really hot month and you need to forget about all the warm clothes when packing as you will not be needing any in Chania. Your swimwear is the first thing that you need to put in your suitcase and just a few tops and your summer sandals and flip flops.

If you decide to visit the island at the end of the summer around September then you need to be aware that is a perfect time for Chania. The island is not really crowed and you may still enjoy the sea as the waters are still hot. However you will find that from September until the last days of October the weather is unsettled but the temperature remains in high levels so you can always enjoy the sea and most of the times the sun and get a sun kissed glow!

In winter the temperature usually does not exceed 15 degrees and the cold becomes milder from the beginning of February. Chania might be a popular summer destination but has so much to offer to you for your winter holidays as well. However if you wish to spend quiet holidays or you want to stay away from all the crowed beaches you have to book your holidays for the begging of September that you get to enjoy all the benefits of the summer(sun, sea, taverns, e.t.c) in a less crowded area!
